Then you have to power it of course. This is a separate insulated water tank that is heated using hot water from the gas or oil fired boiler. You can have a heating coil inside your furnace an indirect fired water heater connected to your furnace or a stand alone oil fired hot water heater. To heat water that is used for showers sinks dishwashers and washing machines.

All water heaters have one job. You could also preheat the water going into the water heater but after a while the coil may get clogged up and your water pressure would be suffer. There is of course a slight increase in your electric bill each month to run the hot water tank. The other primary option for using a heating system to produce hot water is to install an indirect or indirect fired water heater.

The hot outlet from the tankless coil would be connected to the hot water side left of the water heater. Today we are going to talk about the latter.
