Vacuum the toothpaste particles alternating scraping and vacuuming until you have removed as much of the paste as possible.

As it dries the solvent will evaporate leaving the polish. When tile is removed it is frequently a two part process. Apply polish evenly and lightly. Many waxes are no buff and will remain glossy with no further effort.

To apply paste wax start by dampening a lint free cloth such as a shop cloth linen dish towel or old t shirt with warm water and a tiny dab of oil based furniture soap. Spackle is messy whether you re applying a small patch or covering a large surface. Paste wax requires time patience and a lot of elbow action to apply it to a piece of furniture.

If you don t want to track down specialized equipment simply use a clean dry terry cloth towel to polish your floor with a circular motion. Ceilings are also often spackled to provide texture. First the tile itself is taken up either cut pried or chiseled from the floor. Not used as much as it once was paste wax has been replaced by polyurethane and varnish products.

If the floor is still dingy after dusting use a sponge mop to. Buff the floor if it the wax requires it. If some or all of the toothpaste on the floor has dried scrape the carpet fibers gently with the bowl of a plastic spoon or the edge of a plastic knife to flake some of the paste away. Place a little blot of paste wax in the center of a clean cloth.
